What is Brain Gym?
Brain Gym ® is an eclectic technique, combining knowledge from the east and west. It is an educational, movement based programme which uses simple movements to integrate the whole brain, the cognitive senses and the body. The physical component of learning is addressed, complimenting the normal learning methods. It can be used to improve a wide range of learning, attention and behaviour skills.
The results from brain gym are phenomenal simply because it allows access to the whole brain, preparing the person with the physical skills to learn effectively.
Edukinesiology
The Brain Gym® program is actually just one slice of an entirely new field of study on the learning process that Dennison and his wife, Gail, have developed: Educational Kinesiology.
Educational Kinesiology is a comprehensive science and language of movement as it relates to learning; the Brain Gym® program is a physical exercise program comprised of movements that have been found effective to activate and build new neural pathways for improved cognitive readiness and academic performance.
The Founder
The founder is Dr. Paul Dennison (see photo insert), an educationist who worked with children in
remedial reading. Initially Brain Gym was developed to help these children. Now it has also become a personal development program that can help one do better in both study, sport and other performance skills.
Movement is the key factor in Brain Gym. The correct movements integrates the brain-body as a system and helps one to perform optimally.

The System
The Brain Gym ® system may work for anyone, adults and children, young and old; high achievers and those with frustrations and difficulties alike. Everyone can always improve, and even talented people can have the next level of expertise to climb. We say that blocks to learning occur in as much as one is unable to move towards his/her defined goal.
Many think that Brain Gym functions like aerobics or Tai Chi; that is an understament of its value. By jsut doing the movements daily, one can get some improvement but the best way to understand the system is to take the Brain Gym 101 course.
EXPERIENCE A BALANCE

Personal sessions focus on the positive improvements that the client would like to achieve. It is not because they have a problem.
A Brain gym “balance” is a procedure in which we create the necessary change that the person wants.
The person first of all notices the challenged state before doing the brain gym and then lo and behold notices the changes which come post brain gym. Unbelievable! But it works! When you see me for a personal consultation, I do balances with you. You also get to learn since I teach you as I lead you through the balance.
